I have been single for 3 years after my nasty break up with a long time bf.
I wanted to start fresh and I missed having someone that a secured relationship can give.
But I have this fear that I might be hurt again should I meet a wrong guy again.
Any thoughts?
I could totally relate to your situation as I used to be in a relationship before. But after we parted ways, I had a hard time moving on. It was really difficult for me to fall in love again and get into a relationship one more time because I am afraid that I would just probably get hurt. However, love is a huge risk, and if you want to feel loved again, you have got to take that risk. I am now dating a new guy, and I am so happy that I gave him a chance to court me because he always makes me feel special. I really do hope he is the one that I have been waiting for a long time now.
In a love relationship we can never really tell what lies ahead whether it will be just for a short period of time or it will be for a lifetime. Things always change not only in preference with some circumstances that is happening in the relationship but as well a change in the minds of both partner who is into the relationship. Breakups do really happened but it doesn't mean that this experience will hinder you to give yourself a second chance to love again. What happened is already a past and just make it as a lesson learned and as your stepping stone to move on to your present life and to start a new life and to be in love again. That is just the reality of life and just go on and feel again that love in your heart.
Maybe you have to think positive this time so as not to experience a repeat of a failed relationship. As they say in the local lingo, just ride on for the moment. That means don't get too serious with your new relationship. It's just like a new job with a probationary period. That means there are restrictions when it comes to intimacy. Maybe a kiss is okay but not more than that. After 2 months of continuous association and dating, you will get to know more of the guy and that's the time you have to decide if you want to end the probationary relationship or to continue and make it permanent.
