Tanim-Bala in NAIA

There is this controversial issue of Tanim-Bala, supposedly some airport staff have been planting bullets in baggages of departing passengers. Those caught with a bullet is arrested and detained thereby making them miss their flight. One such case is that of Gloria Ortinez, a 56-year old OFW in Hongkong. She had missed her flight and even after 2 weeks, she is still in the Philippines not knowing what to do with her case - she has a pending case of bringing explosives. One bullet is considered an explosive, huh.

Even I am here in another country I had already heard of this bad controversies that is why I am afraid to go home this hoilday season for a vacation and to spend Christmas Day with my family. I am ashamed to my foreign husband if he will learn of this things and he might not have an interest anymore to live in the Philippines in the near future. This Tanim-Bala in NAIA is really something extraordinary and the Philippines is getting worst already.

It's making me ask myself, "are employees really desperate with money that they're making efforts to do something as lame as tanim-bala or laglag-bala?" My sister told me, they even do this to foreigners. How shameful. But if you'll look more closely to what's happening, it may be due to politics and the approaching presidential elections. How about you guys, what are your views about this?

I agree. This controversy is quite saddening and very frustrating. I can't believe that our fellow Filipinos can do such a thing, and prey on innocent people, even the old ones. I hope they would soon realize how badly this is affecting the image of our country to the world.

Even before our country had already a bad image and reputation in the eyes of other countries and the more it is right now because of this Tanim Bala controversy at NAIA Airport. Up to now the government is not taking any precautionary measures or action to stop all of this and is not making any response to answer the people's questions how and why it is happening. That is why I am really afraid to go home for a vacation this Christmas Day. Just imagined I am afraid to go home to my own country and the more other foreign people will already be afraid to visit our country. This is really very shameful!

The people behind this "Tanim-Bala" should be put in jail. I don't think the Filipino people deserve this kind of system. The Philippine Government should take action and investigate the issue. I pray that justice will be served.
