Default "The Way To A Man's Heart Is Through His Stomach"

Do you know how to cook? And....Do you think that men are more attracted to women who knows how to cook? Actually men had different point of views when it comes to this thing. There are those who want that they are being pampered by the special woman in their life by taking care of them especially when it comes to cooking foods that they love to eat. While there are those that it is not that important even their woman does not know how to cook. Whatever maybe what is your idea with this saying that "The Way To A Man's Heart Is Through His Stomach"?

It really depends on the man. It may be one of the ways but it is certainly not the only one. All my college friends didn't know how to cook when they got married and their respective hubbies knew that. I for one didn't know how to cook when my husband and I got married. I even didn't know how to do marketing. Those were the only household chores I couldn't do then and my husband knew it from the start of our courtship. Yet, he still chose to marry me. He also didn't know how to cook and just learned it when we migrated. Now he can cook better than I do but his love has never waned. It's also because he can see that I am caring, thoughtful and selfless. I really do my best in raising our kids and still find time with him. So it is up to the man's interests and the woman's other strengths, I guess.

If a girl knows how to cook, then I think her partner would even get more attracted to her or would fall even harder in love with her. However, I don't think a man's love only depends on the ability of a particular woman to cook. Of course, there's still a lot of factors to consider such as her personality, beauty, etc.

The thread's title is a saying the befits a couple in the olden times. But times have changed now. I didn't know how to cook when my husband and I moved to an apartment. Worse, he didn’t know either. To solve our shortcoming in the kitchen, we agreed to learn independently. And it was fortunate for me because I had a big project in the office that needed my complete attention. That left the chore of learning to my husband. To make the story short, he had been cooking once in a while until he had taken over the kitchen… leaving me ignorant… until now. Not bad, at least he is showing his love for me, hahahaaa.

Aww you are really fortunate, I must say. I'm happy for you. :)

I myself, knows how to cook and bake. My beau really likes to be pampered through all sorts of things with 'RELAX' written all over it. I'm fortunate to have found a man that loves to pamper me as well. Though, the only thing he knows how to cook is to fry sausages, which we both love for breakfast. The only problem for me is, I don't know much of Filipino dishes, most of which he frequently requests me to cook for him. Good thing his mom is so nice and close to me, that I have no problem learning the Filipino dishes he loves.

So what I can say about the saying, 'The Way To A Man's Heart Is Through His Stomach' is, it depends on the man. It's not just them, it's also their lifestyle, their personal preferences and also how they were brought up. My beau loves food while being with me, chat about his day and mine over breakfast and dinner. So maybe it's a way for him to get in touch with me while he's enjoying the moment and the food cooked by me. He has 6 more brothers, but only 4 of them loves to eat home cooked dishes, depends on their mood. But there's one thing that unites them all, it's not just the food, but the Filipino dishes that are cooked by their beloved mother. But I must say that, it's a surefire way to attract the man that you want. If you have ever heard of 'gayuma' from your 'tita' or someone from your neighborhood, I guess cooking has something to do with that, because if you cook something for a man, it may soften his heart and gets you noticed in an instant, hence the saying, 'The Way To A Man's Heart Is Through His Stomach.'

This old saying is misses the word "also" or "too" I think.

To only cook someone is a little bit too light gesture if you are a suitor, I think. But it certainly helps a lot if the future wife to be is also a good cook.

I know how to cook and definitely think that men find it attractive, but not necessary. I would be a bit bummed out if my significant other didn't know how to cook. It's something I think that everyone should be capable of doing. Being able to cook is being able to feed yourself. I would hate to depend on my significant other for food and end up eating premade meals all the time. It's healthy to know how to cook a proper meal.
