Filipinos have always been grateful for people who visits their land. Primarily because of the business that it generates for locals. Next to that is the joy of seeing foreign people whom they can boast the hospitality that almost everyone in the Philippines exudes naturally.
I am working in the Philippines for a foreign company and every time our boss is around, we always make sure that she is well treated the Filipino way. She likes it here so much that she spends 70% of the month staying here than at home. Probably because she likes the way she's treated here. Like a family. At the same time, she likes the professionalism of Filipinos. The ethics that Filipinos shows in our company is world class which made it possible for us to expand at a rapid rate. This reflects the trust and confidence of the company to keep their business here in a long term basis because they can see the potential for expansion.
But then again, it also depends on how foreigners treat Filipinos. If foreigners treat us badly in our motherland, then they should expect that Filipinos will return the favor. Observance of the "Golden Rule" - Don't do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you. - is they key for foreigners to leave peacefully in the Philippines. After all, there are a lot of foreigners who would want to leave and retire here because of the serenity that they've enjoyed on a daily basis. Also, there are a lot of things that the Philippines can offer (hex23).
